Jasmine Pham, who has a Vietnamese mother and a father from the Caucasus, won the 3rd place in the 2009 Miss World Canada beauty contest when she is just 18 year old.Jasmine was born in Kapuskasing in a small village in the province of Ontario, Canada. Her mother is Debra Pham of Vietnamese origin.Jasmine Pham is still at school but will soon start at
Waterloo University. After finishing, she plans to keep on studying and become a skin specialist as she dreams of opening a consulting-room and a spa.
She actively takes part in community activities such as her local choir, volunteers for local events and tutors children. She is very interested in music and plays the piano very well. She also likes to play volleyball, basketball and baseball.
She is fond of travelling and has visited Vietnam
Hong Kong, Alaska, the Bahamas and Cuba. She has recently returned to Vietnam to visit relatives and says she’s always proud of her origin.
The beauty queen title was awarded to Lena Yanbing Ma, a model cum singer from North York in Ontario, who will represent Canada at the Miss World held in Johannesburg, South Africa in December this year.
